Soundshaper forgetting initial set up folder locations

Win11, latest version of CDP and Soundshaper.  when i launch soundshaper i get the op up window that it needs to know where the progs folder is. so, i go to settings/options and set the proper folder paths and save that as default settings.

i have to do this every time i launch soundshaper. SoundThread works fine and has no trouble remembering where the proper folders are. also, soundshaper loads as a very thin window that i have to drag down from the bottom to expose the GUI.

I've tried every type of save and exit procedure in soundshaper to try and get it to remember where things are but it's a puzzle i cannot solve.

I'd like to use Soundshaper and Soundthread in equal parts. there's something appealing to me about the spreadsheet interface of soundshaper.

apologies if this issue has been dealt with already. i couldn't find any leads on the forum for a solution.

anyone have some thoughts on this? just curious what to do to troubleshoot or if it's just a bug. i reinstalled it once to see if that would fix it but didn't help. same problem.

Hi,
I'm sorry you've had this problem though it should be easy enough to fix.

I'll take a look at it and see if I can see why the CDP programs folder should not be found. The normal setting is for Soundshaper to be within C:\CDPR8 (or whatever), as is the folder _cdp and its subfolder _cdprogs. In other words:  (C:\CDPR8)\_cdp\_cdprogs  and (C:\CDPR8)\ Soundshaper.

The thin window you mention seems to occur when setting up is incomplete for some reason.

Hi Ignatius,
I have gone through the Soundshaper code today and tidied up various things in the setup. I will post a new version tomorrow.

Soundshaper and CDP are supplied with the correct folders in place. Whatever you choose as your CDP base folder (default is C:\CDPR8), there should be a subfolder _cdp and another one called Soundshaper6 on the same level.  Neither of these should be re-positioned.
