Dear all,
Thanks to the tireless and continuing efforts from Richard Dobson I am pleased to announce that version 7.1 is now available

For PC
http://unstablesound.net/downloads/cdpr71win32-07-16.zip

For Mac
http://unstablesound.net/downloads/cdpr71mac-07-16.zip

These are updates to all CDP soundfile programs (apart from the Windows GUI ones), with the all-important modification to sfsys to make the
environment variable CDP_SOUND_EXT optional, defaulting to wav. It also restores proper behaviour preserving sample type (24bit, floats etc) and
use of the -f prefix for output files, which had somehow got lost in the previous release. The change to the environment variable essentially
means programs can now be used directly without an installation/configuration step.

Just copy all executables to the existing _cdprogs folder.

I should add the usual caveat of making a backup first.

Happy sonic mangling!
Simon

Hi Simon,
Thanks for posting. However, on my end those aren't showing up as valid links (they just go to http://for%PC). Is there another place I can download from, or could you post again?

Thank you,
Mike

Hi Mike,
Strange!
Could you tell me what os & browser you are using

Something weird happening with the forum software. I've replaced the links now

Also links to the downloads on the Unstablesound CDP Page
http://unstablesound.net/cdp.html

Apologies for any confusion

Hey Simon,
Thanks for looking into it. I'm using Chrome on Windows 10x64. I also tried opening it in Edge browser and got the same result. I don't have firefox installed to try it there.

But the Unstablesound link is working for me. Downloading now.

Thank you!
Mike

Are the OS-X binaries actually up to date ones?

When running them, I get messages with :

QuoteCDP Release 7 2014

I'll check with Richard,
Looks like an error in updating that report, as the file creation dates are May 2016

Would it be possible to have the latest source codes for download?

Xenakios

To clarify the above : there is a source code download link for the release 7.1 for Linux, but that link points to the same source code package as the link for release 7.0...

It would be appreciated if source code downloads would appear for building on Windows and macOS.

Some work still to be done, they should be on Github in the next week or so.
I'll  post a link  then.

Thank you Richard and Simon for making this available, the setting of the environment variable has been a real issue for a lot of users in my experience, especially on mac, so this is a very welcome release.

A question about the mac (.mpkg) installer for the software, does this need to be run to use just the executables? I have been using the updated exe's on a fresh mac install and everything seems to be working fine so I'm not sure what I'm missing out by not running the mac installer.. I noticed on my old mac that the installer added a bunch of folders in addition to the _cdprogs folder (_cdpatch, _cdpenv, _cdpins, _userenv, _userlog) I'm not really sure what these are for, will need these for some processes?

Any news on the latest source code being made available?
