Mac installation / Problem Multichannel Shred and Output Numbers

Dear CDP Forum,
I'm also posting for the first time, so apologies if my questions are a bit rudimentary.
1)
On running the "Multichannel Shred" process, it hangs every time, even with the
default settings.
Does anyone else have this problem and know how to resolve it?
2)
Also, I'm outputting multichannel sounds to a 5.1 system.
If I choose 4 or 6 as output numbers, one of the corner speakers
(e.g. L, R, Back Left, Back Right) is missing.
Again, does anyone else have this problem and know how to resolve it?
