Google Chrome claims forum contains malware
« on: September 22, 2016, 10:54:36 AM »
When opening this forum's URL, Google Chrome shows a red page claiming the forum contains malware with a hidden option to continue browsing into here. I don't know if it is a false alarm or something real, but perhaps the forum moderators could take a look at it.

Actually the warning appears from the top level address http://www.unstablesound.net/ too...(Google considers CDP a malware?  :D Well, kind of sad and annoying, really. I've myself had to experience false antivirus and malware alarms when I've distributed Windows builds of my softwares. Sigh.)

I am aware of this and have re-uploaded (virus checked, original files) the whole site, and removed a couple of pages that might have been the issue
-Javascipt contact form seems to have been attracting the spammers etc.

Also, updated the SMF forum software and changed passwords.

The Google report suggests that somewhere there is code that redirects the user to hcl.gr. I have not as yet found that code

In truth Google (the evil empire) has not as yet responded to my request to remove the 'Red warning' following the above.

So, dear users I think it is safe here atm, but if anyone has seen that redirect I would be grateful if you could let me know, either here or send mail to me.

Also , I suggest changing passwords as a matter of course.

Seems to be cleared up here too. Thanks for looking into this.
